Creamy Chocolate Mousse Recipe

Creamy Chocolate Mousse


  • 150g dark chocolate, broken into squares.
  • 50ml strong black coffee.
  • 50ml butter.
  • 3 eggs, separated.
  • 250ml cream, chilled.


  • In a saucepan on the stove over a low heat melt the chocolate and coffee.
  • Add the butter.
  • Mix until the butter has melted.
  • In a bowl beat the egg yolks.
  • Add to the mixture.
  • Mix well.
  • In a bowl beat the egg whites until soft peaks form.
  • Add to the mixture.
  • Mix in well for at least 5 minutes.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and place in ice water.
  • Stir until the mixture is cool.
  • In a bowl whip the cream.
  • Fold into the cooled mixture.
  • Pour the mixture into small cups or glass ramekins.
  • Place in the fridge and chill overnight.
  • Decorate with cream rosettes and serve.
