Savoury Puffs Recipe


250ml water.
125ml butter.
2ml salt.
125ml oats.
200ml cake flour.
4 eggs.


Preheat oven to 200°C.
In a large saucepan bring water, butter and salt to a boil.
Quickly stir in the oats and flour.
Stir well for 2 minutes over a low heat or until the mixture forms a ball.
Allow to cool.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each one has been added. (Using an electric beater).
Beat until the mixture is smooth and shiny.
Grease a baking tray.
Spoon teaspoon sized dollops onto the baking tray.
Bake for 30-35 minutes.
Remove from baking tray and allow to cool.
Cut off the tops and fill with fillings of your choice.

– Chopped ham, chopped gherkins and cream cheese.
– Cream cheese and cooked or smoked salmon.
– Spicy, thick white sauce mixed with cheese and chopped cooked bacon.
