Yellow Rice with raisins Recipe

Nothing Better with bobotie than yellow rice


500 ml rice.
2 cinnamon sticks.
3 cardamom pods.
pinch of turmeric.
1 litre water
5 ml salt.
250 ml seedless raisins.
15 ml butter or margarine.


Put the rice, cardamom, cinnamon, pods, turmeric and water in a pot.
Add salt and bring it to a boil.
Reduce the heat and boil the rice until it is soft.
Strain through a colander and rinse with water to remove the excess turmeric.
Put the rice back into the pot and add the raisins, butter and sugar to taste.
Steam over a low heat until heated through.
