Brown Rusks Recipe

INGREDIENTS

15ml vinegar.
350ml-400ml milk.
1 extra-large egg, whisked.
300g margarine, melted.
750ml cake flour.
1000ml wholewheat flour.
45ml baking powder.
250ml sugar.
5ml salt.

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 180°C.
Grease an oven pan with margarine.
In a bowl mix together the vinegar, milk and egg.
Add the melted margarine.
In a separate bowl mix together the cake flour, wholewheat flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
Add the flour mixture to the margarine mixture.
Mix to form a soft dough.
Spoon the dough into the prepared pan.
Spread evenly.
Mark off fingers.
Bake for about 40 minutes or until a testing skewer inserted comes out clean.
Cool for about 10 minutes in the oven pan.
Turn out and leave to cool a little longer.
Break into fingers.
Arrange the fingers on a baking tray and dry at 100°C.
Once done leave to cool.
Place in an airtight container.
