INGREDIENTS
1 packet (200g) marie biscuits.
150g butter or margarine, melted.
250ml sugar.
2 extra-large eggs, separated.
50ml cake flour.
1 can (410g) guavas, drained and puréed.
250ml milk.
METHOD
Preheat oven to 160°C.
Spray a 24cm ovenproof dish with non-stick spray.
Crush the marie biscuits and mix with 100g melted butter or margarine.
Press the mixture on the bottom and along the sides of the prepared oven dish.
Chill until needed.
Cream the remaining butter and sugar and add the egg yolks.
Beat well.
Sift in the cake flour.
Add the puréed guavas and mix lightly.
Add the milk and mix well.
Whisk the egg whites until soft peaks are formed and fold into the mixture.
Pour into the prepared crust and bake for about 30 minutes or until done.
Serve lukewarm and with guavas or custard.
