Beef Stroganoff with Pasta Recipe


750g beef strips.
20ml sunflower oil.
2 onions, peeled and finely chopped.
300g button mushrooms, roughly chopped.
60g butter.
60g flour.
800ml milk.
250ml cream.
salt and pepper.
pasta of your choice.


In a deep heavy based pot on the stove heat the oil on a high heat.
Brown the beef strips, in batches, until well browned on all sides.
Repeating until all the meat is lightly cooked.
Remove the meat from the pan and set aside.
Turn heat down to medium.
Using the same pot fry the onions until transparent (about 6-7 minutes).
Add the butter, allowing it to melt.
Add the mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Sift in the flour, stirring well to prevent any lumps.
The mixture will be quite thick.
Cook for a few minutes, stirring well.
Remove pot from heat.
Whisk in the milk and cream.
Make sure there is no lumps.
Return the pot to the stove.
Cook stirring regularly, until the sauce thickens slightly.
Place the meat back into the pot with the sauce.
Add salt and pepper according to taste.
(The sauce should be smooth and not too thick).
Cook your pasta according to the packet instructions.
Serve your pasta with hot beef stroganoff.
